Surviving A Slashdotting With a Celeron 466
An interesting read, but not %100 truthful. The system was unavailable for the first two hours of the slashdotting while he tuned his server. I am not trying to take away from what he did with his Celeron 466, wordpress, bsd on his dsl line. I am just curious if his tuned server would have been able to handle the initial load.
The wordpress plugin that he used, WP-Cache looks handy in reducing server load. I am still relatively new to wordpress so I am not up on all the cool plugins. Easy to install, just like everything else in wordpress, and seems to work great. This should be helpful if I am ever slashdotted. But I don’t think my posts are that interesting. ![]()
