Tobacco banned Montgomery College
August 3, 2008

Montgomery College in Maryland has banned tobacco use on campus, even outside. This is a growing trend among higher-ed institutions.
The real reason why sheeple agree with this. ‘I don’t like the smell.’ or the even better fallacy of second hand smoke kills, especially outside. If car exhausts smelled like the cigarette smoke then I suspect we would be banning cars too. I suspect I breath in more harmful chemicals walking through the parking lot then when walking by the few smokers lighting up in the designated areas.
I don’t smoke and actually call cigarettes cancer sticks, since that is what they are. But what a person decides to breath is their own business. But it is just not cigarettes that are banned, all tobacco products are. This ban also includes chewing tobacco. A tobacco product that does not harm anyone except the user. So why ban chewing tobacco? Well, chewers make up a very small minority so it is easy for the anti-tobacco crowd to take away that freedom as well.
And yes, employees could ultimately be fired or students kicked out if they kept ignoring the rule.
The more freedoms that are taken away, the more us citizens are turn into rule/law breakers, sad.
A Real Choice

I have been told that if I vote for someone that doesn’t have a D or an R after their name on the ballot that I am just throwing my vote away. My response to them is the opposite but still quite the same. If you are voting for someone just because they have a D or an R after their name on the ballot, then you are equally throwing your vote away.
Check out the Libertarian party playform, check out the Libertarian candidate for President, Bob Barr.
Some say voting for a 3rd party candidate for any reason is dumb because they can’t win. Well, voting for someone just because they can win doesn’t hold too much logic either.
