Ahmadinejad: Israel ‘will be removed’

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday that the Palestinians and “other nations” will eventually remove Israel from the region.
Addressing a mass demonstration in Tehran - one of many organized throughout Iran to commemorate the 27th anniversary of the Islamic revolution - he once again questioned the Holocaust “fairy tale”.
“We ask the West to remove what they created sixty years ago and if they do not listen to our recommendations, then the Palestinian nation and other nations will eventually do this for them,” Ahmadinejad said in a ceremony marking the 27th anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
“Do the removal of Israel before it is too late and save yourself from the fury of regional nations,” the ultra-conservative president said. He once again called the Holocaust a “fairy tale” and said Europeans have become hostages of “Zionists” in Israel.
He also accused Europeans for not allowing “neutral scholars” to investigate in Europe and make a scientific report on “the truth about the fairy tale of Holocaust.”
“How comes that insulting the prophet of Muslims worldwide is justified within the framework of press freedom, but investigating about the fairy tale Holocaust is not?” Ahmadinejad said. [.continue.]

And yet Europe and the United Nations continue to play ball with this extremist.
I just hope this radical regime can be taken out of power relatively peacefully before they obtain the bomb. If not its going to get ugly.

Nice slogan, should put that on a t-shirt.

Violence over a Cartoon

I usually don’t get into judging one’s religion. Who am I to judge? But there are some things that just don’t seem right to me. Strapping a bomb around one’s waist, getting on a bus full of innocent people and blowing it up is one. Blowing up abortion clinics is another. I guess any religious action that involves any sort of violence I would be against.

So in the past few weeks there has been religious motivated violence directed at Denmark. Actually Denmark and any other country that allows the reprinting of depictions of Mohammad.

These were cartoon type pictures printed in a Danish newspaper. This specific picture caused the biggest uproar.
Mohammad

Iran has cut trade ties with Denmark. Danish embassies in Damascus, Syria and Lebanon have been torched. At least 5 people have died so far because of this. Really crazy stuff. Apparently it is against Islam to depict Mohammad in any way, at least that’s what being said. But in reality images of Mohammad have been created and displayed for centuries. Take a look at the Mohammed Image Archive.
What I figured was going to happen is happening already. Pictures are being photoshopped to include depictions of Mohammad in them. The one with Bob Ross is my fav. So Mohammad will join the likes of the Chinese Boy, Lee Hotti and the Mosh Girl in Internet lore. Is this right or wrong? Really not for me to say, actually I really don’t care. The interesting thing to me in all this is how European countries are the target of this radical Islamic violence. Over the years most of Europe has gotten along quite nicely with the Islamic regimes, especially pertaining to the Israel Palestine situation. The US was always “the great Satan”. Can one cartoon change all that? Many of the Middle East regimes should be careful what they demand. They could lose some very key allies.
