You are The Cap’n!

Some men are born great, some achieve greatness and some slit the throats of any man that stands between them and the mantle of power. You never met a man you couldn’t eviscerate. Not that mindless violence is the only avenue open to you - but why take an avenue when you have complete freeway access? You are the definitive Man of Action. You are James Bond in a blousy shirt and drawstring-fly pants. Your swash was buckled long ago and you have never been so sure of anything in your life as in your ability to bend everyone to your will. You will call anyone out and cut off their head if they show any sign of taking you on or backing down. You cannot be saddled with tedious underlings, but if one of your lieutenants shows an overly developed sense of ambition he may find more suitable accommodations in Davy Jones’ locker. That is, of course, IF you notice him. You tend to be self absorbed - a weakness that may keep you from seeing enemies where they are and imagining them where they are not.

The price gap between cable broadband service and phone carriers’ digital subscriber lines widened to an all-time high in August, according to a survey by SG Cowen. [continue]

The survey by SG Cowen doesn’t mean crap. We are really talking apple and oranges here. The article talks about Verizon’s slower service costing $14.95. Is there a cable company that offers speeds that slow? Unless you are comparing equivalent speeds then the survey is crap. I know in my area I can get standalone cablemodem service, without cableTV. I sure can’t get DSL without having POTS. Does their survey take into account the cost of having the phone line, along with all the taxes that are added to it? Article doesn’t say, but I think not.

(33% dark, 50% spontaneous, 42% vulgar)
your humor style:
VULGAR | SPONTANEOUS | LIGHT

You like things silly, immediate, and, above all, outrageous. Ixne on
the subtle word play, more testicles on fire, please. People like you
are the most likely to RECEIVE internet forwards–and also the most
likely to save them in a special folder entitled ‘HOLY SHIT’.

Because it’s so easily appreciated, and often wacky and physical, your
sense of humor never ceases to amuse your friends. Most realize that
there’s a sly intelligence and a knowing wink to your tastes. Your
sense of humor could be called ‘anti-pretentious’–but paradoxically
enough, that indicates you’re smarter than most.

Life is an interesting thing sometimes. You go thru life, eat, sleep, work, etc. You go thru your daily routine and every once in awhile Life throws you a curve.
Four weeks ago several members of my family were in a rather serious car accident. I was on my way to work, just another day when I got THE call and headed to the hospital. Although I would never wish that experience on anyone, it does force you to think about, well life from a different perspective.

Yesterday at work I was thinking how things started to feel normal again, at least for me. Today started a normal day at work, another bad battery, another defunct hard drive, the usual stuff. Then I saw someone who I had not seen in at least a year. Someone who I admired and always wanted to get to know better, but never got around to doing just that. Someone, I thought I would never see again just walked right up to me. I was stunned and still am a bit.

Life is a funny thing, it can very easily sneak up on you.
