Astrologist sues NASA over crash

July 7, 2005

A Russian astrologist who says NASA has altered her horoscope by crashing a spacecraft into a comet is suing the U.S. space agency for damages of $300 million, local media has reported.
“It is obvious that elements of the comet’s orbit, and correspondingly the ephemeris, will change after the explosion, which interferes with my astrology work and distorts my horoscope.”

This has caught my eye since I am currently taking astronomy 100. It seems that astrologers and science have been butting heads for years. Part of the problem with astrology is that it does not correct itself when in error. I had always thought my sign was Cancer, but that is not the case. Using Starry Night I have found that I am actually a Gemini. On the day I was born the sun happened to be in the Gemini constellation. So what does this mean? Not much I guess if you don’t believe in it.

I just find it funny though how this ‘distorts her horoscope’. I guess it makes it bad.
